Join Science Cafe NH at SOEL Sistas Café in Nashua Tuesday, September 16, for a 6:00 panel discussion on PFAs in NH. PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) are a large group of man-made chemicals known as "forever chemicals" because they don't break down easily and can build up in the environment and the human body.

PFAS chemicals have been detected in numerous water sources and communities across NH due to industrial activity, firefighting foam use, and runoff from landfills and hazardous waste sites. These persistent compounds pose significant health risks and have prompted statewide monitoring, stricter regulations, and active cleanup programs to protect public health.

Panelists: Laurene Allen (Merrimack Citizens for Clean Water), Dr. Anila Bello (UMass Lowell); Brandon Kernan (NHDES Drinking Water and Groundwater Bureau).

As always, Science Cafe NH is FREE and open to all. You can learn, ask questions and make a few new friends, so please join us! Check our Facebook page for more information, and reservation details.

Come early to order food or drink and grab a seat. Enter Soel Sistas is from the upper parking lot of 30 Temple St. in downtown Nashua. Please plan to attend!
