As people living with dementia progress in their journey and lose the ability to use words, caregivers can discover new ways to communicate effectively in any stage of the disease. Through this workshop, you'll learn: 
<ul><li>How dementia affects communication.</li><li>What a person-centered approach is, and how it can help.</li><li>Communication strategies for working with patients with dementia, family, friends, and other healthcare professionals.</li></ul>
Presented by Melissa Grenier, LCSW – Regional Manager, New Hampshire, <a href="https://www.alz.org/manh" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Alzheimer’s Association</a>.

The State of New Hampshire has enacted a law enabling property owners to receive relief from the state education portion of their property tax bill. Volunteers from the AARP Foundation will be at the library to help eligible homeowners file for this refund. Appointments are suggested but not required. Call 603-736-5106 to schedule an appointment.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following criteria:
<ul><li>Income limits:&nbsp;$37,000 or less adjusted gross income (single); $47,000 or less adjusted gross income (married filing jointly or head of household).&nbsp;Your adjusted gross income amount can be found on line 11a of your 2025&nbsp;income tax return.</li><li>Be a homeowner and pay property tax on the home.</li><li>Lived in the home on April 1, 2025.&nbsp;</li></ul>
To file for the refund, you must bring the following items:
<ul><li>2025 income tax return for&nbsp;each adult living in the claimant’s household</li><li>December 2025 property tax bill</li></ul>

Nashua Historical Society

In this hands-on class you will transform a plain white silk scarf (14x72 inches) into a unique wearable piece of art! You’ll learn some fundamental techniques of silk dyeing to create unique patterns from soft water color effects to bold, geometric designs using alcohol inks and walnut dye.No experience is necessary; just bring your creativity, and you will walk away with a one-of-a kind silk scarf! All materials will be provided. Instructor Suzanne Gamache is accomplished in the use of alcohol inks for painting on both paper and silk.
Reservations are required as this learning experience is open to 20 participants from&nbsp;12 years - adult at a cost of $30.00 per person for one scarf.



Tickets may be purchased at the Nashua Historical Society (Tuesday-Thursday, 9am-4pm) or online at nashuahistoricalsociety.org/events. Please note that online and credit card purchases include a $2.00 convenience fee.
