Property Tax Relief for NH Homeowners

The State of New Hampshire has enacted a law enabling property owners to receive relief from the state education portion of their property tax bill. Volunteers from the AARP Foundation will be at the library to help eligible homeowners file for this refund. Appointments are suggested but not required. Call 603-736-5106 to schedule an appointment.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following criteria:

• Income limits: $37,000 or less adjusted gross income (single); $47,000 or less adjusted gross income (married filing jointly or head of household). Your adjusted gross income amount can be found on line 11a of your 2025 income tax return.
• Be a homeowner and pay property tax on the home.
• Lived in the home on April 1, 2025. 

To file for the refund, you must bring the following items:

• 2025 income tax return for each adult living in the claimant’s household
• December 2025 property tax bill
