Celebrate the Third Anniversary of Poetry Nashua on 10/6 @ 6pm at the Nashua Public Library, lower level.&nbsp; January O'Neal is our Featured Poet, followed by our usual open mic readings.&nbsp; Our festivities will include a raffle, commemorative gifts, and tasty snacks.&nbsp; Poetry Nashua meets every First Tuesday of the month.&nbsp; All Poets and poetry minded persons are welcome to enjoy this friendly evening.

Members of the community are invited to attend a meeting with Nashua Public Library Trustees to express their support for Nashua Library workers, who have been working without a contract since July 1, 2026.
You may show your support simply by your presence, or you may sign up on arrival for a 3-minute time to speak. Meetings are open to all Nashua residents. The Public Comment Period is the first item on the meeting agenda.

Support Nashua Public Library Workers: 
Settle a Fair Contract Now
Our library’s value comes from the dedicated, trained staff who show up for our community every day, even after our contract expired June 30. We urge leadership to:
·Provide fair wages retroactive to July 1:
Honor standard labor practices by ensuring wage increases match the rising cost of living and take effect retroactively to the expiration of the prior contract — rejecting arbitrary delays that penalize staff for working during negotiations.
·Guarantee job security and staffing continuity so workers and public services are protected throughout the renovation process.
·Bargain in good faith to reach an agreement that honors the essential work the library staff perform for Nashua taxpayers.
You cannot invest in building renovations while shortchanging the people who make it run. Settle a fair contract now.

Autumn in New Hampshire is a busy time of year, and it’s one of the richest with pumpkins, spices and falling leaves in the air. Are you looking to add a touch of fall to your home? The Nashua Garden Club is excited to invite the greater Nashua community to spend an evening exploring creative fall floral design concepts. This program “Fall Flower Arrangements” will take place promptly at 7:00 PM on Wednesday October 7th. This session, open to the public free of charge, will take place at the First Baptist Church,<a href="https://sites.google.com/d/13XI49y0OldapM3OznD7Jv79_FBvGgHrq/p/1_cG7TOuhxbKQ5yFb1s7-fUNwQCpeLD0V/edit" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">121 Manchester Street, Nashua NH</a> and will be conducted by Katie Rocca, Floral Designer at Shirleys Flowers and Sweets, Nashua NH. 
Ms. Rocca was raised in Lynn Massachusetts with a postage stamp backyard. Upon moving to New Hampshire, she utilized the extra green space to raise a variety of unusual, interesting flowers. Favorites include fox gloves and dark sunflowers. One of her current projects is to establish a berry garden containing blueberries, blackberries, ground cherries and grape vines. In the meantime, Shirley’s Flower and Sweets caught her eye and she joined the team. With guidance from experienced coworkers at Shirley’s Flower and Sweets, Katie has become one of the lead designers. 
Ms. Rocca believes that flower arrangements can express many emotions such as the joy of a new baby or happiness of a wedding. They can convey get well or birthday wishes. She especially enjoys creating personalized funeral tributes that reflect the individual’s life. To honor a close family member known for her red sauces, Katie created a floral arrangement based in a stock pot, that bloomed with shades of red flowers and herbs. Floral arrangements also serve as a beautiful aesthetic when hosting a party or holiday occasion like fall and Christmas. Attendees to this program will hear tips from Ms. Rocca as she creates a cornucopia and fall pumpkin flower arrangement. She will share ideas perfect for gardeners and anyone who appreciates the art of seasonal blooms. 
All are welcome and requested to arrive by 6:45 for this 7:00 PM session. Following the presentation, there will be time for Q&amp;A and light refreshments. A members-only business meeting will follow. Joe English Reservation

New
Hampshire's Up North Orienteers invite everyone to come give
recreational orienteering a try at the Joe English Reservation in
Amherst on Saturday, October 10th.

October
10th lands in the height of fall foliage season – and a
long weekend! It should be an ideal day for an outdoor activity like
orienteering, an easy to learn sport that involves navigating between
points using a map and compass. Think of it as treasure hunting in
the great outdoors, appropriate for people of all ages and athletic
abilities. You can participate individually or with friends and
family. 


Participants
may register and start any time between 9:15 AM and 12 Noon.
Experienced orienteers will be on hand at Joe English Reservation to
welcome newcomers and help them learn the basics and get started on
their first course.
