Most of us are seeing the daily drumbeat of stories that tell us our country and our world are in serious trouble. The news is almost too bad to hear or to comprehend, so many of us are turning to denial or distractions. It makes sense to employ those psychological defenses when things are so difficult. But I believe it is my job to try to shake people up. Sorry.
Yesterday we learned that the Obama Administration is in the midst of shaking down a large bank, J.P. Morgan, for 13 billion dollars and instead of using the money to pay down the national debt (that was incurred in part due to big bank bailouts), the Obama Administration is planning to redirect some of the money to a favorite liberal advocacy group. J. P. Morgan should never have been bailed out by the Feds and I wish they would go out of business. But that is beside the point.
Judge Andrew Napolitano said last night:
“This is an utter perversion of justice,” he said, “for the federal government to extort billions of dollars from the second-largest bank in the United States and give it away to the president’s political friends and favorite political causes.”
This is crony capitalism and government corruption at its worst. As a friend of mine said recently, When is it going to stop?
Are all of these people crooks?
