College Graduates Honored In New Hampshire: Roundup

Plus: Dean's Lists and other awards from students in Amherst Bow, Concord, Loudon, Milford, Nashua, and Webster.

Bryant University's Class of 2019 celebrated the 156th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

  • Emma Stewart of Concord graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Human Resource Management.
  • Oliver French of Nashua, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Finance.
  • Michael Ilacqua of Webster graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Accounting.

Claire Dufresne of Nashua was among the 1,519 students named to the Samford University's 2019 spring semester Dean's List. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester. Dufresne is majoring in Healthcare Administration.

The Empire 8 Conference honored 77 Elmira College student-athletes, including Charles Smith (Men's Ice Hockey) of Bow on its President's List, which recognizes student-athletes who earned a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher during the spring term. In addition, a total of 11 EC teams were named to the E8 All-Academic Team for possessing a GPA of 3.20 and higher.

Kaitlyn Kleppinger of Nashua has been named to Trevecca Nazarene University's Dean's List for the Spring 2019 semester, released on July 12. Kleppinger is a graduate of South Merrimack Christian Acad. To be named to the Dean's List, undergraduates must attain a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale. Traditional undergraduates must be enrolled full-time, while non-traditional undergraduates must have completed 12 or more hours between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2019.

The following local residents were among 1,598 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2019 semester.

  • Robert Ciotti of Bow is a member of the class of 2021 majoring in mechanical engineering and civil engineering.
  • Zoraver Kang of Concord is a member of the class of 2019 majoring in robotics engineering, and electrical and computer engineering.
  • Emily Proctor of Concord is a member of the class of 2020 majoring in chemical engineering.
  • Everett Johnson of Concord is a member of the class of 2020 majoring in robotics engineering.
  • Daler Kang of Concord is a member of the class of 2022 majoring in robotics engineering.
  • Hannah Jauris of Nashua is a member of the class of 2019 majoring in interactive media and game development.
  • YaYa Brown of Nashua is a member of the class of 2020 majoring in electrical and computer engineering.
  • Gregory Stanton of Nashua is a member of the class of 2020 majoring in industrial engineering.
  • Caleb Wagner of Nashua is a member of the class of 2020 majoring in robotics engineering, and electrical and computer engineering.
  • Eleanor Foltan of Nashua is a member of the class of 2020 majoring in robotics engineering.
  • Erika Wentz of Nashua is a member of the class of 2021 majoring in architectural engineering.
  • Akash Shaji of Nashua is a member of the class of 2021 majoring in computer science.
  • Jackson Powell of Nashua is a member of the class of 2021 majoring in computer science.
  • Joshua Martin of Nashua is a member of the class of 2022 majoring in aerospace engineering.
  • Emily Minch of Nashua is a member of the class of 2022 majoring in biomedical engineering.
  • Sarah Piela of Nashua is a member of the class of 2022 majoring in biomedical engineering.
  • Nathan Hyde of Nashua is a member of the class of 2022 majoring in biomedical engineering.
  • Danielle Upton of Nashua is a member of the class of 2022 majoring in chemical engineering.
  • Natalie Dionne of Nashua is a member of the class of 2022 majoring in electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering.
  • Tony Eid of Nashua is a member of the class of 2022 majoring in mechanical engineering.

The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A-level in courses and projects.

Rochester Institute of Technology conferred some 4,200 degrees this academic year at all its campuses--including in Croatia, Dubai, Kosovo and China. The university held its 134th annual commencement celebration in May. The following local residents received degrees:

  • Brittany Janis of Loudon graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in May 2019 with a BS in chemical engineering.
  • Rachel Taylor of Milford graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in May 2019 with a BS in mechanical engineering.
  • Ellice Kim of Nashua received a BS in psychology in December 2018.
  • Andrew Sevigny of Nashua received a BS in motion picture science in May 2019.

The following students have been named to the Champlain College Dean's List for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in the Spring 2019 semester.

Alex Bedard, of Amherst graduated after majoring in economics and minoring in philosophy at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Bedard, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dean Bedard of Amherst, is a 2015 graduate of Souhegan High School.

Flannery Black-Ingersoll, of Concord, graduated Summa Cum Laude after majoring in mathematics and art and visual culture and minoring in dance at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Black-Ingersoll, the child of Douglas L. Ingersoll and Mrs. Rebecca A. Black of Concord, is a 2015 graduate of Concord High School. Black-Ingersoll graduates as a member of Sigma Xi, an honor society that recognizes excellence in scientific research, and of Phi Beta Kappa, an organization recognized as conferring the highest undergraduate academic honors and as the oldest Greek letter society in the US.

Springfield College has named Morgan Grill of Milford to the dean's list for academic excellence for the spring 2019 term. Grill is studying Sports Biology. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.
