Convicted Sex Offender Failed to Register with PD

John Gora charged with 'Failure to Report.'

On May 30, 2012 at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Nashua Police Department Youth Services Division arrested John Gora, 36, of 74 Chestnut Street, Nashua. Gora is being charged with Duty to Report, class A felony, and Duty to Inform, class B felony.

On May 25, 2012 detectives from the Youth Services Division identified Gora, who is required to register as a Tier II sex offender, as being in violation of his registration requirements. As a Tier II offender Gora is required to register semi-annually at the Nashua Police Department within 5 business days of his date of birth and every six month thereafter. Gora is also required to notify the police department of any change of address or temporary addresses where he resides for more than five days during a one-month period. An investigation was conducted and it was determined Gora failed to register within the required time period for his most recent registration and he failed to notify the police of an address where he stayed for more than five days as he is required to do.

A class B felony is punishable by up to 7 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines and a class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Gora’s bail was set at $1,500 cash or surety and he is scheduled for arraignment today at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Court.
