New Charges for Man Already in Custody

Credit card fraud charges were added to Roshun Austin's rap sheet.

Roshun Austin, 31, 38 ¾ Canal Street, Nashua, already in custody at Hillsborough County Jail, was arrested on new charges Dec. 22, after police issued a warrant charging him with Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, a class A felony; and Theft by Unauthorized Taking, a class B felony.

Austin was initially arrested Nov. 3 on unrelated charges.

The new charges stem from an investigation by Nashua detectives who received a report of a debit card and a credit card stolen from a Nashua resident during the month of October 2011. The stolen cards were used to make several fraudulent purchases at various businesses throughout Nashua.

Austin was arrested November 3, charged with several different misdemeanor level offenses, including Receiving Stolen Property. A review of Austin’s criminal record revealed two prior theft related convictions, enhancing the misdemeanor Receiving Stolen Property charge to a class B felony.

An arrest warrant was completed for Austin on the new charges. Austin is still being held at the Hillsborough County Jail in connection with the charges from November 3, 2011. He was arrested from the jail on the active warrant.

A class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines and a class B felony punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Austin is being held at the Nashua Police Department, pending arraignment in Nashua District Division Court.
