Community Update

The citizens of the Nashua area suffer in comparison to those of Manchester and Lowell in that we have very little public access to the rivers that created this fine community - the Nashua and the Merrimack. The City has made good progress on the Nashua River with the new ramp above the Mine Falls dam, and there is some prospect that the Broad Street Parkway project will lead to better access between Jackson Falls and Mine Falls. But better access to the Merrimack is stuck as far as I can tell. The steep Greeley Park ramp is dangerous and essentially useless by prudent boaters as evidenced by the recent launching of a new truck at that site. The new Bridge Street project presents an opportunity at least for canoe/kayak launching over the levee, and for waterfront docks for Nashua-bound diners from down river, but such amenities are hard to discern in the current planning.

This blog seeks identification of feasible ways to improve public access to the Rivers in the Nashua area, and support for doing so.
