Daniel Bennett Group Plays Nashua Library Jan. 3

Free New Hampshire CD release party held at 3 p.m.

Critically-acclaimed New York saxophonist Daniel Bennett is performing a special “New Hampshire CD Release” at the Nashua Public Library (2 Court St, Nashua) on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 3 p.m.

The Daniel Bennett Group is celebrating the release of their newest album, Clockhead Goes to Camp. Bennett will be joined by Nat Janoff (guitar), Eddy Khaimovich (bass), and Matthew Feick (drums). Daniel Bennett has been hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation. Insite Magazine called Bennett’s music, “refreshingly capricious and trippy.”

The Village Voice raves, “saxophonist Daniel Bennett makes hay with an airy approach that’s buoyant enough to conjure notions of East African guitar riffs and Steve Reich’s pastoral repetition.” Time Out New York describes the music as, “hypnotic.” The Daniel Bennett Group has recently shared concert billings with artists like Bill Frisell, Charlie Hunter, Greg Osby, and James Carter. The band has released five critically-acclaimed albums in the last ten years: A Nation of Bears, The Legend of Bear Thompson, Peace and Stability Among Bears, Live at the Theatre, and Clockhead Goes to Camp. The Daniel Bennett Group recently celebrated the release of Clockhead Goes to Camp with a sold-out concert at the Metropolitan Room in New York City.
