Why are you seeking elective office?

I’m running for State Representative, Ward 3 in Nashua:

...to insure transparency in government;

...protect our constitutional rights; and

...preserve local control of our public schools.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Insure that parents have a real voice in their local community public schools.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I've had considerable experience working with state legislators since 1990 on education issues, as well as serving for four years on my local school board. I understand the process.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

My current state representative is very polite but I don't think she recognizes the urgency of respecting the rights of parents to direct the education of their children. Parents were completely ignored during the pandemic. That's unacceptable.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

Transparency in government requires full disclosure of public information under the Right to Know law. Too many arrests and denial of information has occurred recently. This needs to change.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I'm not afraid to speak up for what is right even if it's difficult. I'm willing to fight for my constituents. I've done this in the past. I'll do it again if elected.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

It's important to listen to everyone when trying to move an issue forward. Takes team work and compromise. However, there should be no compromise on principle.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

Constituents may contact me by phone, text or email. It's important for me to understand how constituents feel on issues.
