35th Annual Santa Fund Run

Starting and finishing on the track at Nashua High School  South, the race is both a 5K and 10K, traveling over the trails in Mine Falls  Park in Nashua. It's generally a flat course with gorgeous views of ponds,  canals, the Nashua River and foliage. In its third year, the 10K course is  attracting more and more runners.

This year's race features the first ever "Santas Dash," a fun, 5K race in which runners who make an additional $25  donation to the Santa Fund, will don light-weight Santa hats and beards to run  the 5K. This separate division will have its own awards and medals going to the  first 50 Santa finishers. Runners in this division are also eligible for the  overall and age category awards. Interested runners can sign up for the  "Running of the Santas" on the day of the race only. Please note that  the $25 donation is in addition to the normal race registration fees.

Registration for all of the races begins at 8 a.m. in the cafeteria at Nashua High South and runners make their way behind the school to the track for a 10 a.m. start of all races.

Technical long-sleeve shirts and running hats will be given  to the first 500 runners who register online. If any shirts or hats are left over, they will be distributed on a  first-come, first-served basis on race day. Race bibs for those who register  online before October 15, will  feature the runner's name. You can also print out and mail a registration from  by downloading the Santa Fund Run Registration.

Registration  is $30 in advance online and $40 on race day. Runners 18 and under are $15.  Participants are urged to bring an unwrapped toy or gift to the race, which  will be donated as part of the Santa Fund drive during the holidays.

Medals are awarded to males and females in 10 age categories, and overall race winners are recognized.

Yankee Timing, under the direction of Dave Camire, is providing race management  services, using the Chrono Track B Tag system for timing. The Gate City Striders will handle the course management. Steve Moland will announce the race  and provide music for the start and finish.

Proceeds from the race will help kick off The Santa Fund, which enters its 50th year of helping those less fortunate in the Greater Nashua area during the holidays.
