Fancy Friday

This installment of Fancy Friday will have a "Mad Men" theme. So, what is Fancy Friday, anyway?

Fancy Friday events have an orientation toward fun, fanciness, friendship, and fundraising for worthy causes. Participants get dressed in their finest suits, tuxes, dresses and gowns and paint the town red. Fancy Friday events involve multiple participating locations (STARTING LOCATION TBA), that feature specials for participants, and are held in Downtown Nashua. These events are held on a seasonal schedule, and our next event will be held on the night of November 18th to raise funds for the Veterans F.I.R.S.T. program of Harbor Homes.

The Fall Fancy Friday will have a Fancy twist to it! We have decided to go with a theme for this event, and that theme is "Mad Men" inspired dress. The television show is about the advertising industry and America in the early to mid 1960's. Participants, though it is not required, are encouraged to choose outfits inspired by that era and the costume designs of the hit series "Mad Men." The Fans of Fancy Friday have voted on the Charity of Choice for this event and have determined that they would like to support the Veterans F.I.R.S.T. program, which provides dedicated housing for veterans in transition, with the funds raised for this event! 11/18/11 is the day and we hope that you will join us for a night out in Downtown Nashua where everyone will be looking, feeling, and doing good!

The cost of participation is only $5 per person this will allow for participants to skip any cover charges that they may encounter at any locations that are involved in the event, as well as get them food and drink discounts at many of these locations. Locations that will be participating include:

San Francisco Kitchen
The Old Amsterdam
Fody's Tavern
Stella Blu American Tapas
The Timber Grille
O'Brien's Sports Bar
The event will also feature professional portraits by Matthew Lomanno Photography (Location TBD)

Our first official event had over 100 participants, 5 locations, 3 music/entertainment acts, and raised over $800 for the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. Our second event, held on August 26th, had over 150 participants, 8 participating locations, 5 music/entertainment acts, and raised over $1200 for the National Transplant Assistance Fund in honor of Renee Brodeur. We hope to continue growing and with your help we will have an even Fancier event and raise even more money for the Veterans F.I.R.S.T. program!

This is a night to enjoy a casual yet exciting atmosphere with new and old friends in the comfort of Fancy attire. For the Fancy record, the definition of "Fancy" is up to your discretion =|8^) Our events are loosely based on the concept of a pub crawl, but participants are encouraged to visit participating locations at their leisure throughout the night and enjoy all of the great deals and ambiance, and even better company, the evening has to offer. This allows for the restaurants, bars and shops to cope with the increase in customers at a reasonable pace, and it allows for participants to visit their favorite places without feeling rushed or pressured to "move it along" to the next stop.
