TekArts hackerspace open house

Come on over to TekArts Sunday late afternoon to tour the place and have a look at some of the interesting projects we've got going on, like "VendHack" (the photo is of the spiral dispensing mechanism in the vending machines we've acquired).

We're trying Sundays, late afternoon / early evening, for open houses for the summer. We've been actively recruiting members lately, so we'll go over that AND we're having a summer membership fee reduction to make it even easier to join - $10/month off! We've started up a couple of new things, too, including TekWiki where members can record project information into. So, come over Sunday this week and meet the TekArtists!

Our open houses (every week) are a relaxed casual time to meet new people and take a tour of the shop to see how we’re going with the build-out of the coolest hackerspace in the Shire. Come anytime from 4-8PM this Sunday to check it out – we’ll have a little “Inside TekArts” session at 5 and go over some of the inside workings of our club. We can talk more about Google SketchUp, which is a free downloadable 3D modelling program, if anyone's interested. It's a good way to start learning some 3D concepts. We’ve got hot and cold beverages or you can bring your own. Come on out to our clean, well-lighted place to “talk shop.” See you at the Pine Valley Mill this Sunday.
