“Our students learned that one of our region’s largest employers has a workforce with professionals in a wide variety of disciplines, and with varied educational paths. The teens learned that there is more than one career path,” said Antwan Thomas, Y-Achievers director. Students were introduced to a number career options within the Fidelity site including financial services, technology, human resources and site services such as facilities, food service and security.
The YMCA of Greater Nashua has partnered with Fidelity Investments in Merrimack for the Y-Achievers program, an educational and teen mentoring program for students in grades 7 through 12 since the program’s inception three years ago In addition, Fidelity employees volunteer as mentors to the teens and sit on a Steering Committee to help shape the program.

Y-Achievers involves community volunteers, many of whom are Fidelity Investment employees, and mentors from Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Nashua, encouraging youth to excel in school, attend college and prepare for life after high school.
According to Mr. Thomas, Y-Achievers director, “Our Y-Achievers program assists youth of diverse backgrounds prepare for college and explore careers. For teens who may be the first in their family to consider college, having the guidance of an adult mentor is crucial. By raising the academic standards of youth and providing them with adult role models whose success and knowledge will inspire them to reach their goals, Y Achievers will help them grow into self-sufficient, productive community members. We are very appreciative of Fidelity Investments support of this program for the past three years. Additionally, we have had the support of Fidelity employees who serve as mentors and on our steering committee.”
“Just as we make our financial expertise accessible and effective in helping people live the lives they want, Fidelity Investments takes a similar approach in giving back to the communities where we work and live. We look for opportunities like the Y-Achievers Career Exploration event that will allow our employees to draw on their insights and experience to help provide students with the foundation to feel more confident, make smart decision and achieve personal and financial goals,” said Teresa Pelletier, Community Relations Manager at Fidelity Investments.
