Breaking: Nashua firefighters rescue man who fell asleep after leaving a pan burning in his Brook Village Road apartment, igniting a fire.
NASHUA, NH — Nashua firefighters on Saturday rescued a man who fell asleep after leaving a burning pan on the stove of his Brook Village Road apartment. The pan sparked a fire that extended to the cabinets. The man appeared to have some smoke inhalation issues but he refused medical treatment, according to Deputy Fire Chief George Walker.
The fire broke out at about 4 p.m. at 310 Brook Village Rd. in unit 14. Firefighters said they encountered heavy smoke upon arrival.
"Food cooking on the stove should never be left unattended," Walker said in a statement.
