Nashua Firefighter Hurt Battling 11th Street Blaze

A two-alarm fire broke out in Nashua Saturday night on 11th Street.

NASHUA, NH — A fire ripped through a Nashua residence on 11th Street Saturday night. One Nashua firefighter suffered minor injuries battling the fire, which broke out at 17 11th St. at about 5 p.m. The residence is located on Nashua Housing Authority property.

Firefighters encountered heavy flames shooting out the roof; they used a ladder truck to extinguish the blaze.

The fire appeared to have started in a first floor wall and spread to the second floor and attic, according to Nashua Deputy fire Chief George Walker. The cause was "accidental," Walker added.

The residence is part of a two-story building containing five apartments.

The firefighter who was hurt suffered head and neck injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
