Fireworks Illegal In Nashua
Fireworks are illegal in Nashua though they are permitted in many parts of New Hampshire.
NASHUA, NH — Fireworks are legal in many New Hampshire communities — but not in Nashua. Nashua is one of a host of Granite State communities that have a fireworks ban. Instead, officials urge residents to enjoy the city's annual fireworks display Tuesday, July 4 at Holman Stadium.

Nashua is one of about two dozen communities in New Hampshire that ban fireworks. Others include Hampton, Salem and Exeter.

State officials provided these fireworks questions and answers:
- "Are fireworks legal in New Hampshire for consumer use? Yes, only Class C, Consumer fireworks excluding firecrackers, bottle rockets and any device that produces solely smoke.

- What fireworks are illegal in New Hampshire? Any type of Firecracker, Bottle Rocket, Missile, Sky Rocket, hand held Fountains and any device that produces solely smoke.
- Can my town prohibit the sale, possession, or display of Permissible Fireworks? Yes. NH RSA 160-C does give towns, cities, or local municipalities the ability to adopt local ordinances that restrict, or prohibit the use, possession and display of Permissible Fireworks.
- How old do I have to be to purchase and possess fireworks? You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase and possess fireworks.
- Are M-80’s, Cherry Bombs, Quarter Sticks legal in New Hampshire? No, the United States Government has banned the production, sale, possession and display of items like these.
- How do I obtain information on the requirements for a license to sell Permissible Fireworks? Contact the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office at (603) 223-4289, or contact the NH State Police Permits and Licensing Unit at (603) 271-3575."
