This is a nest of fledglings of Tree Swallows within one of the six Eastern Bluebird nesting boxes on the property. We love the Tree Swallows and encourage them to thrive since not only are they beautiful but they do us a great service by consuming large quantities of insects as the adults feed themselves and their young on the wing. The temperature the day I intruded upon the nest was in the high nineties outside of the box. I hope and trust they forgive me for the intrusion as I was truly looking out for their welfare.
