This is an Eastern Phoebe, one of the many flycatchers species native to this area and they are one of the earliest of the migratory birds to return. They usually nest under eaves of buildings or under bridges on some of the bridge structures. They are superb insect catchers as they will dart out and grab insects out of the air. They have a nice pleasant song which is a repetition of the sound of their name "fee-bee" but they haven't yet been able to manage the "Eastern" part of their name!
