This week the House will hear sb413 the gas tax bill. There is also a non-germane attachment to remove the exit 12 ramp tolls.
While most of us agree that the gas tax may be necessary to upgrade and/or repair our roads why would we then remove revenue that the gas tax provides by eliminating revenue used for the same purpose. In essence it reduces the gas tax to three cents instead of four. You just can't make this up. The math says four minus one is three.
SB413 should be defeated unless the non-germane road toll is eliminated from the bill. A separate bill based solely on the toll can be submitted in September as it should be.
