Girl Sexually Assaulted At Nashua Pond: Police

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua man was arrested over the weekend after sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl at Sandy Pond, police announced Monday. James Bourque, 46, was charged with two counts of felonious sexual assault and held on $25,000 bail. Police said they learned of the incident Saturday after the girl told her mother.

"A nine year old female reported to her mother and to officers, that she was inappropriately touched by a man she did not know at Sandy Pond on National Street," Nashua police Lieutenant Kerry Baxter said in a statement. "A description of the suspect was provided and officers subsequently located and identified James Bourque and confirmed he was the man involved."

Bourque was held in custody pending an arraignment Monday in Hillsborough County Superior Court.
