Graduations, President's List Notices, And More: College Roundup

Plus: Student tours Italy; accolades from Amherst, Bow, Concord, Loudon, Milford, Nashua, and Webster residents.

Patrick Scanlon, of Nashua, graduated Cum Laude with a BS Business Administration in Marketing Communication/Advertising from Western New England University during the May 18 commencement ceremonies. Scanlon was among more than 600 students who received degrees from 28 states. The top five fields of study were Mechanical Engineering, Criminal Justice, Accounting, Pharmacy Studies, and Psychology.

Roger Williams University is proud to announce that Dawson Dickson, of Concord, graduated with a B.A. in Communication & Media Studies in May as part of the Class of 2019.

Tara LePage, of Amherst, is one of 19 students spending a month studying at Assumption College's Rome Campus where the city, and country of Italy, become a living classroom. Assumption offers this month-long summer program to those students who are not able to take advantage of the opportunity to spend their fall or spring semesters abroad. While in Rome, students will take the Business of Italian Tourism class, which counts as a major elective for marketing, management, and international business majors, and one of Assumption is many online summer course offerings.

Marrissa H. Allen of Milford has been selected for inclusion on St. Lawrence University's Dean's List for academic achievement during the Spring 2019 semester. Allen is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in English and psychology. Allen attended Milford High School. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

Natasha Morris of Nashua, graduated from Hofstra University in May 2019, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.

The following students were named to the 2019 Dean's List at Stonehill College:

  • Lauren Walter, of Bow, a member of the Class of 2022
  • Alyssa Bottari, a member of the Class of 2019 from Nashua
  • Kennedy Muise, a member of the Class of 2019 from Nashua
  • Emma Wood, a member of the Class of 2020 from Nashua
  • Taylor Hart, a member of the Class of 2021 from Nashua

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Marissa Nicole Splendore of Concord has been named to the President's List at Clemson University. Splendore, whose major is Psychology, made the President's List for the spring 2019 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.

Braden St. Jacques of Webster, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in aerospace engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research through the WPI project center in Yerevan, Armenia. The project was titled Incorporating Childhood Games Into the Memory Club Program. In their project summary, the students wrote, "Alzheimer's Care Armenia created the Memory Club to slow the progression of memory loss in the elderly. Our project aimed to incorporate participant's childhood games into the Memory Club; to decrease anxiety and enhance their quality of life by improving their overall cognitive functioning."

To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or better for the Spring 2019 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester.
