Habitual Offender Eludes Police, Turns Up in Jail

A New Ipswich man who eluded arrest in Nashua back in November was finally charged Dec. 28 while being held at Valley Street Jail in Manchester on unrelated charges.
Benjamin Piche, 22, was originally stopped on Temple Street in Nashua Nov. 12 after police discovered his license had been revoked for being a habitual offender. When police attempted to place Piche under arrest, he sped off in his vehicle and police were unable to locate him.
A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Nashua Police finally caught up with Piche when, on Dec. 28, he turned up at Valley Street Jail in Manchester on other charges. He was additionally charged on the Nashua warrant as a habitual offender, class B felony; and disobeying a police officer, a class A felony.
The Habitual Offender offense is punishable by up to five years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail, exclusive of fines. Piche was held and scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Division Court.
