Hollis Deaths Determined To Be Apparent Murder-Suicide

Bodies of a man and woman were found during a police welfare check on Saturday.

HOLLIS – The deaths of a man and woman found during a welfare check in Hollis on Saturday were the result of an apparent murder-suicide, law enforcement officials said in a statement Sunday night. Autopsies conducted Sunday determined both died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The bodies of Brian McDonough, 51, and Alisa Mayo, 41, were discovered late Saturday morning. A statement from the Attorney General’s office said that Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie V. Duval determined that Mayo’s death was a homicide, while McDonough’s death was a suicide.

“Although the investigation into the circumstances surrounding these two deaths remains active and ongoing, at this point in the investigation it appears that Mr. McDonough shot and killed Ms. Mayo, and then shot and killed himself,” New Hampshire AG Gordon MacDonald and Hollis Police Chief Josephy Hoebeke announced in the joint statement.
