Hudson Burglary Suspect Caught After Chase: Police

Hudson police said burglary suspect John Barbuti was arrested after a foot chase Thursday.

HUDSON, NH — A Hudson burglary suspect was arrested Thursday after a police chase, authorities said. John Barbuti, 30, was charged with resisting arrest. Police said he also has multiple felony warrants.

The incident happened Thursday at about 11 a.m. on Quail Run, police said. Officer Rob McNally responded to the area for a report of suspicious activity.

"Through his investigation, he learned a subject who was wanted for Burglary may be in the area," Hudson police Lt. Tad Dionne said in a statement. "A short time later, Officer McNally observed the wanted subject he knew as John Barbuti ... on foot in the woods.

"As Officer McNally was attempting to make contact with the subject, Barbuti had fled on foot through the woods. Officer McNally was able to overtake Barbuti in the area of St. Anthony Drive."

Barbuti was charged in connection with a local burglary spree over the summer. He was also charged with resisting arrest. He refused bail and was held in police custody pending an arraignment Friday in Nashua District Court.
