Hyannis Wendy's Target of Cyber Attack

Wendy's said its Hyannis location was one of hundreds affected in a cyber attack; customer credit/debit card info was stolen. Please share!

Barnstable, MA — A Hyannis Wendy's was one of hundreds of stores affected in a data breach.

The company on Thursday said thieves stole sensitive customer credit and debit card information with malware. Customers should check their statements and report unusual activity, the company said.

"We sincerely apologize to anyone who has been inconvenienced as a result of these highly sophisticated, criminal cyberattacks involving some Wendy's restaurants," said Wendy's President Todd Penegor in a statement. "Impacted customers can receive a year of fraud consultation paid for by Wendy's as well as identity restoration services.

"We are committed to protecting our customers and keeping them informed."
