Information Sought After Suspicious Death Of Massachusetts Woman

HUDSON, NH — Investigators in at least three states are attempting to find out more information about a Massachusetts woman who was found dead in Vermont earlier this week.

Mary Anderson, 23, of Harvard, Massachusetts, was found dead early Tuesday morning inside a blue 2017 Toyota Tacoma in Brattleboro, VT. She was last seen in Hudson around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday while driving the truck.

After her body was found, police requested information to locate Matthew Davis, 34, of Fitchburg, MA, her former boyfriend. While not considered a suspect at the time, he was considered a “person of interest” in the case.

Anderson's family said they were initially concerned when they didn't hear back from her Saturday, calling the disappearance "uncharacteristic." On Sunday, she was officially reported missing.

On Tuesday night, Davis was shot and killed in Brattleboro during a confrontation with police. According to reports, Davis walked by state police around 7:45 p.m. They attempted to speak with him about Anderson. After a chase, police said he pulled out a knife, lunged at troopers, and was shot.

Investigators on Wednesday and Thursday took to social media to raise awareness about Anderson’s whereabouts when she was last seen in Hudson on Saturday and the discovery of her body on Tuesday in Vermont.

State police in Massachusetts are trying to find out if Anderson was taken or being held against her will. Vermont state police are investigating the cause of her death.
