It’s Nashua South Vs. Merrimack On Granite State Challenge
The Panthers face off against the Tomahawks in the quarterfinals on Saturday night on NH PBS.

DURHAM, NH — Merrimack and Nashua High School South students are in the semifinals of “Granite State Challenge,” which airs at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019, on New Hampshire PBS. Nashua bested the Academy for Science and Design while Merrimack beat Portsmouth to get to this point. The winner of this quarterfinal game will face Plymouth Regional High School in the semifinals.
The semifinal between Littleton and Manchester Central will air on April 27.
“Granite State Challenge” features the state’s top high school academic teams competing against each other on trivial, history, and problem solving.

The Panthers are represented by Ankita Devasia, the team’s captain, senior Ben Telerski, junior George Eid, and junior Njeri Kiritu. Alternates are senior Hailey Sweeney and freshman Sri Korandla. Greg Montine is the team’s coach.
The Tomahawks are led by captain Scott Peyton, a junior, as well as juniors Alex Jobin and Troy Church, and Nick Gacharna, a sophomore. Alternates are Aidan Remick, a sophomore, and Emily Brule, a junior. Sara Campbell is the team’s coach.
