Jenn Cava to be Honored as NH Tech Educator of the Year

[Nashua, NH] [April 7, 2023] – The New Hampshire Tech Alliance has announced that Jenn Cava, Director of the Academy for Science and Design (ASD), has been recognized as the 2022 Tech Educator of the Year. The prestigious award honors women in technology who are driving innovation, influencing technology in companies and schools, and demonstrating a deep commitment to the technology community in New Hampshire.


Cava will be recognized along with the Tech Student and Tech Professional of the Year at the TechWomen Connect and Awards event on June 22, 2023.


Under her leadership since 2011, the Academy for Science and Design, a STEM-focused chartered public school in Nashua, New Hampshire, has been recognized for excellence in numerous ways, including as a National Blue Ribbon School, an EDie School of Excellence, the No. 1 High School and Middle School in New Hampshire, and one of the Top 75 National STEM Schools by US News and World Report. Cava shares that this recent recognition from the NH Tech Alliance is “really a representation of the incredible work our faculty and staff do to build a top-notch program for our students-- I’m just the ‘talent scout’ bringing them together to do it.”

Cava's achievements extend beyond her role at ASD. She has been featured by New Hampshire Women's Magazine as a top female leader in education and recognized by New Hampshire Magazine as a member of the "It List." She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS) and the Executive Board for the New Hampshire Alliance for Public Charter Schools. Cava emphasizes that, “we need to get serious about our STEM-workforce needs, which includes the need for a strong pipeline of future science and technology-focused educators to lead the way for our students.”
