Nashua Jordan’s Furniture Workers Win $1M Powerball Prize
The group of 30 employees purchased the winning ticket for Saturday's drawing at Cumberland Farms on the Daniel Webster Highway.

CONCORD, NH — A million dollars can buy a lot of furniture. Store merchandise could be among the things on the purchase list for 30 employees from Jordan’s Furniture in Nashua who claimed a $1 million Powerball prize at New Hampshire Lottery headquarters Wednesday morning in Concord. More than a dozen of the employees showed up for a press conference to accept the prize from Saturday’s jackpot.
The workers went in on a pool of tickets, with each putting in $2. Each of the employees will receive about $33,000.
“If we can do this it’s a no-brainer the Red Sox can throw a no-hitter,” one of the winners said, referring to a past Jordan’s promotion.

Lottery officials also announced that Michael Gallagher, of Nashua, claimed a $50,000 winning ticket from Saturday’s drawing. That was purchased at the Hannaford Supermarket on Coliseum Avenue in Nashua.
The New Hampshire Lottery is projecting the Powerball jackpot will reach $750 million for Wednesday’s drawing, which would make it the fourth-largest lottery jackpot on record and the third-largest Powerball jackpot in history. The one-time cash payout is expected to be $465.5 million.
