Why are you seeking elective office?
I decided to run again for the State Senate because I did not like what I saw in Concord from our current Senator. Governor Chris Sununu is doing a terrific job leading our state through a very difficult situation, but Melanie Levesque has stood in his way on every important issue facing our state. I think we need to elect leaders that will work with everyone to find workable solutions to our state’s problems.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Our state’s small businesses have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. These businesses are the backbone of our economy and provide good paying jobs to a large amount of New Hampshire residents. Unfortunately, our current State Senator voted for a massive tax hike for our small businesses that is set to go into effect very soon. If I am elected, I will immediately work to stop this unnecessary and potentially disastrous small business tax hike before it devastates our economy. I will also oppose any effort to pass an income tax or sales tax in our state.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My opponent is very nice person, but her priorities are simply not New Hampshire’s. She believes in higher taxes, big government and less freedom in our lives. My opponent has voted for an income tax, higher business taxes, higher health care costs, and against school choice. On these issues we are complete opposites.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
Senator Levesque has failed to listen to her constituents. New Hampshire does not want a statewide income tax. We have voted that way time after time, yet this year she voted to create a statewide income tax. The number one priority of a Senator should be to reflect the will of their constituents. Melanie Levesque has failed to do this.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform
I want to focus on safely getting New Hampshire back to normal. This means creating a business-friendly environment to help our small businesses survive during these troubled times. It also means ensuring that all NH residents have access to affordable health care, clean drinking water and high-speed internet in rural communities. I also want to focus on lowering our high property taxes by returning more money to the towns and cutting wasteful spending.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
When the COVID-19 Pandemic struck New Hampshire, I was very concerned with the effect that it would have on our small businesses. I own a small industrial cleaning business in Nashua and decided to donate my services to other local businesses and non-profits so that they were able to safely stay open. Our community is extremely important to me and I believe that ability to work together for the common good is something that we need more of in Concord.
The best advice ever shared with me was …
Always put others first.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I would like the voters to know that they can always contact with any questions and concerns and that I will always take the time to listen and respond. This seat belong to the people and I plan to make sure that your voice is heard.
