Knife-Wielding Nashua Man Strangled Ex-Girlfriend: Police

Erik Caron was arrested on domestic violence charges after police said he attacked his ex-girlfriend and threatened her with a knife.

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua man was arrested Monday after strangling his ex-girlfriend then threatening her with a knife, according to police. Erik Caron, 25, of Nashua, was held on $25,000 bail.

Nashua police Lt. Kerry Baxter said Monday at about 2 p.m., police were notified of an assault that happened Sunday. Caron's ex-girlfriend told police he assaulted her after an argument.

"Detectives ... furthered the investigation and determined Caron strangled the female, threatened her with a knife, and assaulted her when he struck her with his hand and ... threw an object at her head," Baxter said in a statement.

Caron was charged with two counts of domestic violence. He was scheduled for an arraignment Tuesday in Nashua District Court.
