Lil’ Iguana Resale Store Opens in Nashua

The Lil’ Iguana’s Children’s Safety Foundation, a local nonprofit focused on child safety education through music, is proud to announce the opening of its Resale Store at 472 Amherst Street, Suite 11 in Nashua.

Lil’ Iguana Resale Store offers a variety of items that have been given to the foundation by generous donors over the years. Shoppers can browse through tens of thousands of items including baby items, household items, antiques, glassware, electronics, furniture, toys, games, children's clothing, adult clothing, shoes and more.

Proceeds benefit the Lil’ Iguana’s Children’s Safety Foundation’s efforts to educate young children and prevent child abduction, abuse and serious accidental injuries.

The idea to open up a store initially came from the sheer number of donations that the nonprofit received each year, according to Executive Director Jim Tomaszewski.

“Lil’ Iguana fans have been so generous and donated their own items when they couldn’t afford to give money,” said Tomaszewski. “Eventually we had so many donations that we needed to find a way to use them to help our cause.”

A year ago Tomaszewski began selling the donated goods right off of Route 101A in Merrimack on lawn donated by the owner of New England Country Pies. This exploratory effort brought in waves of customers, which inspired him to upgrade to a more permanent space.

The Lil’ Iguana Resale Store opened its doors on March 15, and is also holds the administrative offices for the Lil’ Iguana’s Children’s Safety Foundation. Tomaszewski said that he has seen a steady increase in customers since the store opened, which is great news when it comes to his mission of safe and happy childhoods.

“We have been going to classrooms and events for twenty years to teach children how to protect themselves,” he said. “The money we make from the store and other fundraising efforts goes right back to the children in our community. That’s what is most important.”

The Lil’ Iguana Resale Store is open Sunday-Wednesday from 10am-6p and ThursdaySaturday from 10am-8pm. Donations can be dropped off by appointment at (603) 881-9805.
