Maine Police Warn of X-Rated Facebook Scam
Bangor police said they've received multiple complaints from men who fell victim to a "scorned vixen" scam.

BANGOR, ME — Bangor police this week issued a warning after multiple men in the region fell victim to an X-rated Facebook scam.
The scam involves an "attractive" woman claiming to be from the Philippines, police said. Once a man accepts her friend request, she asks him to perform sex acts on camera, police said. Then, she demands $300 to $600 and threatens to send the video to the man's Facebook friends if he doesn't pay up.
Bangor police said the "scorned vixen" scam appears too good to be true in the first place and urged men to use common sense.

"This is a scam and you will look stupid being shown around the office doing something that you really cannot take back," Bangor police said in a statement. "Once it is out there, we can do nothing for you ... We do not have a repair kit for stupid mistakes."
