Man Arrested for Alleged Knife Threats, Choking

Evangelos Ioannou faces multiple felony charges.

Evangelos Ioannou, 22, of 69 Caldwell Road, Apartment B, Nashua, was arrested March 3 after allegedly making threats with a knife toward a group of people inside an apartment, and allegedly choking a woman known to him.

Ioannou has been charged with Domestic Violence: Criminal Threatening, Class B Felony, Domestic Violence: Second Degree Assault, Class B Felony, two counts of Domestic Violence: Simple Assault, two counts of Criminal Threatening, Class B felony, Criminal Threatening, Class A Misdemeanor and two counts of Simple Assault, Class A Misdemeanor.

Police said on March 3 at approximately 10:39 p.m., officers were called to an Ash Street residence for the report of a domestic assault involving a knife. It was reported that Ioannou was armed with a knife and made threats to harm several people there.

Upon further investigation, detectives learned that during the altercation Ioannou allegedly used his hands to choke a female victim known to him. Ioannou also assaulted several other people inside the apartment during the altercation, police said.

A Class B Felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Ioannou was held at the Nashua Police Department on $25,000 cash or surety bail pending his arraignment in Nashua District Cout.
