Police: Man Punched Woman, Child, During Domestic
Corey Wharton faces multiple domestic-related charges.

Corey Wharton, 25, was arrested Jan. 20, charged with punching a woman and boy during a domestic. The incident was reported to police by hospital officials after the victims came in for help.
Wharton is charged with second degree assault, a class B felony; domestic Violence: simple assault; simple assault; and obstructing the report of a crime, all class A misdemeanors.
Police responded to a local hospital just after 3 p.m. and learned from the alleged victim that, during an argument, Wharton had assaulted her as well as a juvenile male, who were both known to Wharton, at a downtown residence in Nashua. It was reported that Wharton had struck both victims with a closed fist.

It was also alleged that Wharton took the phone away from one of the victims when they attempted to call 911 to report the incident. The investigation was furthered by detectives in the Youth Services Division. Both victims sustained minor injuries and bruises as a result of the assaults and were released from the hospital after treatment.
Wharton is being held on $5,000 cash or surety bail pending his first appearance at the 9th Circuit-District Division-Nashua Court on
Tuesday, January 22, 2013. The Class B Felony is punishable by 3 ½ to 7 years in State Prison, exclusive of fines.
