Man Charged With Assault Following Alleged Strangling
Christian Torres was arrested on a domestic violence/second-degree assault warrant.

Christian Torres, 21, of 36 Mulberry Street, Nashua, was arrested July 20 just before 8 a.m. on a warrant charging him with Domestic Violence: Second Degree Assault, a class B felony.
On July 19, 2012 a woman known to Torres reported to Nashua Police that she had been strangled and assaulted by Torres. The investigation was furthered by members of the Domestic Violence Unit. As a result of the investigation an arrest warrant was issued for Torres. Torres was charged with domestic violence: second degree assault, a class B felony and domestic violence: simple assault, a class A misdemeanor.
Torres is being held at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections on $10,000 cash or surety bail pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit – District Division - Nashua Court on July 23, 2012. A class B felony is punishable by one to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to a year in the County House of Corrections, exclusive of fines.
