Man Charged For Pawning Family Jewelry for Cash
Police say Donald Johnson took items from three different family members, which he then pawned.
Donald Johnson, 26, of 15 Howard St., Nashua, was charged with two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Consolidated, Class A Felony; and one count of Receiving Stolen Property, Consolidated, Class A Misdemeanor, for allegedly stealing jewelry and other items from three different family members and then pawning the items for cash.
He was arrested Dec. 12 at about 4:30 p.m. in connection with an investigation launched Nov. 1, 2011 after police met with three of Johnson's family members.
Police took reports of several alleged thefts from different residences in the Nashua area. Most of the property stolen was jewelry. A subsequent investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau revealed Johnson was in possession of the stolen property and had sold the items to local pawn dealers.

Two of the victims losses totaled more than $1,500, while a third victim's losses were less than $1,000, subsequently leading to the felony and misdemeanor charged.
A Class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment in New Hampshire State Prison, exclusive of fines. A Class A Misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in County Jail, exclusive of fines. Johnson is being held at the Nashua Police Department on $5,000 Personal Recognizance bail pending his upcoming arraignment in Nashua District Court.
