Man Strangles Woman; Bites, Punches Man: Cops

Nashua Police arrested Gerard Flynn on numerous charges after a domestic incident last night.

NASHUA, NH — A local man was arrested last night and held on cash bail after an alleged domestic dispute in the city, according to Nashua Police. Gerard Flynn, 24, of Fairmount Street in Nashua, was arrested at 7:12 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2016, and charged with second-degree assault-domestic violence and second degree assault, both felonies, and well five counts of simple assault, five counts of domestic violence, and one count of attempted criminal mischief.

Police were sent to a domestic incident at a home in the city at just after 6:30 p.m. after a victim alleged that a man known to her had pushed her to the ground and strangled her, according to a report. Officers arrived, investigated the incident, and arrested Flynn. Detectives later furthered the investigation and learned that Flynn allegedly also threatened to slash tires on her vehicle.

“During the incident, Flynn also assaulted a male known to him, by punching and biting him,” according to Lt. Kerry Baxter of the Nashua Police Department. “Both victims received minor injuries from the assaults.”

More charges were added to Flynn’s docket and he was held on $20,000 cash bail. He’s due to be arraigned today.

According to Baxter, if convicted, Flynn faces up to one to seven years in prison for each felony charge and a year in prison on each misdemeanor charge, not including fines.
