Mass. Man Charged in 2 Nashua Armed Robberies

Andrew Shea faces several felony charges for alleged Nashua robberies at knifepoint.

Andrew Shea, 33, of 118 Clapp St., Stoughton, Mass., was arrested June 2 by Nashua Police, initially charged with resisting detention, a class A misdemeanor, and subsequently charged with two counts of armed robbery, class A felonies; and two counts of felon in possession of a deadly weapon, class B felonies.

Nashua Police Department Criminal Investigation Division had been investigating an armed robbery June 1 at the Lucky Street Market, 136 East Hollis St., in which Shea had been developed as a suspect. Police said Shea is accused of stealing cash.

Shea was also the suspect in a separate armed robbery at another local convenience store in Nashua, at the Harbor Mart, 42 Harbor Avenue, July 9, 2012, in which he is accused of stealing Capt. Kratom Thai capsules, described by police as a form of bath salts.

In both of the above listed incidents, Shea is alleged to have entered downtown convenience stores armed with a knife, and demanded cash and merchandise.

A class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment and a class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail exclusive of fines.

Shea was held at the Nashua Police Department pending an upcoming arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on June 3, 2013
