This past month, the Matthew Thornton Chapter was proud to announce the winners of the Christopher Columbus Essay Contest, Good Citizen Awards and a State Scholarship to hardworking students.
The Cristopher Columbus winner was Samuel Angerfrom Infant Jesus School, pictured with his parents. His essay was "The Lives of Children During the American Revolution".
The other winner of Christopher Columbus was Shefali Mangtani from Bishop Guertin HS . Her essay was "How do Americans View Christopher Columbus and George Washington today?"
The two Good Citizens winners are Alexys Gilcreast from Alvirne HS and Christopher Nelson Millett from Guertin HS. Alexys read her essay"Our American Heritage" to the group.
The State Scholarship winner was Danielle Gilbert from Nashua HS. Danielle was honored at the NHSODAR State Conference Luncheon in Waterville Vally Conference Center on Apr 18th. She is also the winner of the Harriett Partingon Scholarship.
