Maybe most people don’t know they're being racist...

Racism is a form of prejudice, hate or intolerance, including remarks concerning any group united by common history or cultural traits - even such as identifying a person or group by a city in a foreign country.

 

Pete Silva’s  racist message to fellow Republicans on Oct. 10  was a dog-whistle to his peers that if they didn’t get out to vote...

Whether Pete could name it or not, he was using the common technique of “fear of the other” to move his listeners to action. He used a form of racism known as xenophobia.

 

I wasn’t in the room, I don’t know what else he said to his base to elicit their active support. But I do know that speaking about one part of his constituency as if they were somehow different is hurtful to the entire community because it divides them from us. And in case he's forgotten - its  _We the People_

 

Everyone I know is sick and tired of the hate and divisiveness used as a tool to maintain political power. The use of threats and extortion used by the few extremists in Washington is not the path to make this country better.. nor is making racist remarks in Nashua, NH.
