Why are you seeking elective office?
Being a clinician serving on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic has shown me the blight our community members and businesses have experienced firsthand. From addiction and depression spikes to social isolation, I've worked to assist our neighbors adapt to unprecedented circumstances.
This experience has motivated me to run for State Representative to bring my clinical skills and experience to the State House.
If elected I will fight for Public Health initiatives that combat Covid 19, reforms for our mental health system, and help advance legislation that will provide our community with affordable healthcare. I will also fight for legislation that provides relief to the self employed and small businesses that have been disrupted by the pandemic.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The coronavirus is the most pressing issue which goes hand and hand with our need for affordable health care. I intend to fight for resources such as Personal Protective Equipment, small business grants, and technology for hybrid/remote learning in our schools.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Compared to some of the Republican candidates, I believe the coronavirus is real, I believe the science that tells us how to prevent the spread, I believe in having a plan to help our neighbors. I believe that leaders need to rise to the occasion to make difficult decisions that allows our community to rise together.
I am also the only healthcare worker running who has direct experience working with coronavirus patients which has given me a firsthand perspective of how devastating this disease can be.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform
Affordable housing is desperately needed in our community. People are fleeing the Metro Boston area for telecommuting in New Hampshire. We need to be prepared to offer new housing to fill that need or that tax base will move onto other communities.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have an extensive experience in healthcare management and population health management. I have created a successful small business operating counseling offices throughout the merrimack valley with our headquarters here in Nashua.
My experience has led me to be certified as an expert in the Massachusetts Judicial system in the fields of behavioral health, child welfare and social services.
The best advice ever shared with me was …
Work hard and listen more than you speak.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I'm running because of my dedication to helping others. I've done this as a professional and I am hoping to bring that passion to help others to the State House.
