Memorial Service Today for Julie Spicer

Julie Spicer, a beloved Elm Street Middle School teacher, will be laid to rest March 12 in Florida, according to school principal Colette Valade, who has been in contact with Spicer's daughter, Melissa.

"My mom will be buried close to her nephew whom she loved so much, Jimmy Spicer. She helped plan his funeral in March 7 years ago and loved that cemetery. Florida was where her heart was – in the sun and near the Gulf of Mexico," Melissa Spicer told Valade in an email.

March 7 after a brief but determined bout with Burkitt lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer.

A viewing and visitation service is scheduled for March 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at  Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Palm Harbor, Fla. Funeral services will be held March 13 at 10 a.m. at Countryside Baptist Church, 2525 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, Fla.

The community is invited to a memorial service for Julie Spicer on March 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher's School Church, 20 Cushing Avenue, Nashua.
