MicroSociety Academy Continues to Receive Prestigious Awards

MicroSociety Academy Receives Multiple Prestigious George Awards for Third Consecutive Year

The MicroSociety Academy Charter School (MACS), a K-8 tuition free, public charter school in Nashua, was recognized with three George Awards at the 26th Annual MicroSociety International Conference held this year in Jersey City, New Jersey. This past June MACS successfully completed their 3rd school year under the leadership of School Director, Amy Bottomley.

MACS was recognized as a 4 star MicroSociety day school. 4 stars is the highest rating a MicroSociety school can achieve based on MicroSociety’s international status system of quality. 4 stars indicates that MACS successfully exceeded addressing MicroSociety standards and practice, which are highly comparable to state standards. In addition to receiving a 4 star rating, MACS brought home the 2018 George Award for Outstanding MicroSociety Elementary School Teacher and two 2018 George Awards for Student Leadership.
At this year’s international conference three MACS staff members were featured presenters on topics ranging from Becoming an Ambassador for Your School to MicroSociety Guiding Principles and How to Get Started with MicroSociety.

Director Bottomley attended the international conference along with a team of two school administrators and four teachers. Bottomley commented “The Board of Trustees and staff are honored to be recognized as a top ranked MicroSociety school internationally, once again. The MACS stakeholders work tirelessly to ensure that the Founders’ mission and vision continues to make an impact on the students of New Hampshire. I am proud to be part of such a supportive and caring organization.”
