Miss Gate City Crowned
Kat Howland, Meghan Montminy will kick off Dec. 28, Manchester Monarchs game.

Kat Howland, a coach with the Gate City Figure Skating Club, was crowned Miss Gate City 2015 by Jillian Granucci, Miss Gate City 2014.
The Miss Gate City Scholarship Competition - complete with crowns, gowns and scholarships - is a stepping stone on the road that ultimately leads to Miss America.
The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance. The reigning Miss New Hampshire, Megan Cooley of Auburn, has earned $31,000 in scholarships from the Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program and Miss America Organization.

Howland graduated from Miami University of Ohio. She is a former NCAA Division 1 student-athlete and Team USA figure skater. Howland advances to the 69th Annual Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Competition to be held April 30 – May 2, 2015 at the Stockbridge Theater at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. Miss New Hampshire will go on to represent the Granite State at the Miss America Competition in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Dancer Meghan Montminy was crowned Miss Gate City’s Outstanding Teen 2015 and will compete for the Miss New Hampshire’s Outstanding Teen crown February 13-15, 2015.

Howland and Montminy will help host a special Miss New Hampshire Game Day with the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday, Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 each.
