The Nash Casino Presents Record Breaking $2.7 Million to Local Nonprofits

Nashua, NH - The Nash Casino, New Hampshire’s largest charitable gaming venue, has once again broken the record for the largest charitable contribution in state history, presenting $2.7 million to 14 New Hampshire nonprofit organizations on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. This extraordinary amount was accumulated from the combined revenues generated by games of chance, historical horse racing (HHR) machines and video lottery terminals during the month of July and surpasses The Nash’s previous record of $2.4 million in charitable contributions generated the previous month.

“It warms our hearts to see our partnership directly improve the lives of New Hampshire residents through the vital services provided by our esteemed charitable partners,” said Eric Althaus, general manager of The Nash Casino. “Whether it’s supporting and honoring veterans or expanding programs offered to local youth, these funds make a meaningful difference in communities across the state.”

This is the second month in a row The Nash has smashed its own record for largest monthly charitable contribution and the fifth consecutive month the venue has contributed over $2.2 million to charitable partners. The Nash has raised a combined $12.1 million in that period. In the past 17 months, The Nash generated $31.1 million for New Hampshire nonprofits.

In December, The Nash began offering five-day weeks to partnering nonprofits, down from seven days, in order to significantly increase the number of nonprofits served.

Mark Anderson, the founder of the youth community center in Brentwood, Austin17House, called the funds “transformational.”

“Ours is a place where you can belong and build a bridge into the fullness of who you are,” Anderson said. “These funds allow us to double our reach and create a foundation to move our organization to the next level.”

Honor Flight New England transports local veterans that served during WWII, in Vietnam and Korea to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials at no cost to them. They receive the welcome home and recognition they deserve, according to board member and veteran volunteer Chad Franz.

“We average about two to three flights per year, but with these substantial funds we hope to add more flights to the calendar,” Franz said. “It fills my cup to see these veterans get the closure they deserve, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to expand our mission, as we race against time to say ‘Thank you.’”

According to state law, 35% of games of chance revenues and 8.75% of HHR machine revenues are set aside for two nonprofits assigned to each week of gaming. The combined revenues are split evenly between the two nonprofits. In addition, 10% of games of chance and 16.5% of HHR revenues are contributed to the state Education Trust Fund. New VLT revenue is taxed at 31%. Of that amount, 35% will be contributed to local charities. The remainder is contributed to the state’s General Fund, Education Trust Fund and other state programs. In the month of June, The Nash sent $2,255,058.36 to the state fund.
