Nashua Aldi Grocery Store Opens: ICYMI

Nashua's newest grocery store is open! Aldi is on Amherst Street next to Whole Foods.

NASHUA, NH — Aldi, a discount grocer, opened its new Nashua store Thursday.

The 270 Amherst St. location opened at the site of the former Nashua Motor Express. Whole Foods is next door.

“We are pleased to bring our first store to Nashua to help customers get high-quality products at everyday low prices,” said Bruce Persohn, an ALDI vice president, in a statement. “We challenge shoppers to switch from national brands to our high-quality exclusive brands and stretch their dollars without compromising quality. As important as price is, the only way to attract and keep shoppers is to have quality products.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning as the store opened to the public at 8:45 a.m.

It's Aldi's fifth New Hampshire store. The chain has stores in Keene, Plaistow, Salem, and Derry.

Based in Germany, Aldi operates over 10,000 stores worldwide. About 1,500 are in the United States.

Aldi only recently started accepting credit cards.
