Nashua Bank Scammed By Massachusetts Man: Police

Soloteh Nkem, of Boylston, Massachusetts, allegedly stole checks from a Hooksett businessman and cashed one in Nashua.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua police last week arrested a Massachusetts man on charges he stole checks from a Hooksett businessman and cashed one at a Nashua bank. Soloteh Nkem, 21, of Boylston, Massachusetts, was charged with felony forgery. He refused bail, police said.

Nashua police Lieutenant Craig Allard said in January, a Hooksett businessman said someone stole checks from the mailbox of his Hooksett home.

"Three checks were then altered and cashed," Allard said in a statement. "One of the checks was cashed at TD Bank in Nashua."

Allard said on April 21, Nkem was tracked to Millbury, Massachusetts and arrested by Massachusetts State Police. He was transported to Nashua Wednesday to face the forgery charge, Allard said.
